What an experience Rome was. The whole city is eye candy. You do need to pay attention while your head is spinning around trying to see everything because as far as I can tell traffic rules are optional.

The Pope was out of town but it was easy to imagine the square in front of St. Peter’s Basilica packed with people waiting for a glimpse of him.

As we toured the Coliseum, it did not take much imagination to picture the hunts or gladiator fights.  Apparently the Christians were thrown to the lions in the Circus Maximus, not the Coliseum.
